BREWER – Ruth A. Farrington, 86, wife of the late Albert James Farrington, died Sept. 9, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Oct. 26, 1919, in Bangor, the daughter of Chester R. and Beryle (Lyons) McIntosh. Ruth graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1937 and trained at Paine Hospital to be a nurse. She was a dedicated homemaker to her family and for many years dealt in antiques. She went to antique shows where she made many friends. Her antique specialty was “depression” glass and she had refinished and sold some unique pieces. Ruth’s artistic talents were also expressed in her oil painting. She was a member of the Brewer Historical Society and she enjoyed her time spent at camp on Graham Lake with family and friends. She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Farrington of Augusta; four grandchildren, Allen Farrington and Lynn of Monroe, Toby Farrington and his wife, Cindy, of Monroe, Matthew Farrington and his wife, Leslie, of Brewer, Jennifer Farrington and her husband, Ben Montague, of Ohio; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ellen Collins and her husband, Philip, of Portland, Ore. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband; two sons, Peter and Albert James Farrington; and a sister, Shirlie Bilbo. She will be remembered by many special friends, including Bob and Bobbi Small of Brewer, Rudy and Jeannette Larez of Eddington, Reed and Carol Corson of Bangor, Pat and Charles Gero of Orrington and Angie Graves of Presque Isle. Friends may visit 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer. A memorial reception will be held after.
