CALAIS – Ruth Chaffee, 89, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, at a Calais nursing home. Ruth was born in Baileyville, Oct. 10, 1915, daughter of the late Sandy and Olive (Brownlee) Leeman. She was a faithful and active member of the Second Baptist Church in Calais. Surviving are a sister, Grace LeMary of Calais; a niece, Joyce M. Clark of Noblesville, Ind.; a nephew, George Barnard of Calais; several great-nieces and great-nephews. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19 in Woodland Cemetery, Baileyville, with Pastor Chris Stevens officiating.
