CORINNA and FARMINGTON Ruth E. Leavitt, 70, died Feb. 19, 2004, at a Farmington hospital. She was born Nov. 22, 1933, at Newport, a daughter of Earl and Rosalie (Johonnot) Nelson Sr. She attended Newport High School, graduating from Nokomis Regional High. Ruth retired after 27 years as a spinner at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Stanley Leavitt Sr. of Farmington; a son, Stanley Leavitt Jr. and wife, Norma, of Sangerville; a daughter, Donna Keaten of Farmington; two brothers, Earl Nelson Jr. of Madison, James Nelson and wife, Lisa, of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sisters, Madeline Anderson of Skowhegan, Joanne Whitney and husband, Roger, of Corinna, Ramona Patterson and husband, John, of Abbot; three grandchildren, Tammy Barker, Brian Leavitt and Randall Keaten; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob Barker and Rylee Keaten. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Randall A. Keaten. There will be no visitation. A graveside funeral and committal service will be held in the spring at the Morse’s Corner Cemetery, Corinna. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna.
