PEMBROKE – Ruth E. Nadeau, 87, passed away Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at an Eastport nursing home. She was born Oct. 4, 1917, in Pembroke, the daughter of Thomas R. and Nina B. Wentworth. She attended Pembroke schools and later Gorham Normal School. On Sept. 17, 1938, she married Philip V. Nadeau and had 59 years of married life until his passing in Nov. 1997. Ruth was the director of the Eastport Senior Citizen’s Center for many years after it’s founding. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends playing cards, traveling, reading, her flowers and cooking. She was especially happy when surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren while she was making pies or donuts for everyone. She was predeceased by her mother, father, husband and brother, Dale Wentworth. Survivors include a son, Paul T. Nadeau and his wife, Sylvia, of Bowdoinham; a daughter, Phyllis D. Michaud and her husband, Terry, of Orrington; sisters, Mary Quinn Roe and husband, Harlan, of Ohio, Rena Stackhouse and husband, Robert, of Eastport; brother, Roy Quinn of East Machias; grandchildren, Monica of Orrington, Colleen of Windham, Mark of Glenburn, Craig of Wahiawa, Hawaii, Tyler and Kyle of Orrington; great-grandchildren, Krista and Kristopher of Orrington, Willa of Windham and Kora, Jared and Logan of Wahiawa, Hawaii; also by special nieces and nephews, Gail, Sharon, Tom, Rosie, Cindy, Tony, and Annette. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at Forest Hills Cemetery in Pembroke.
