BREWER – Ruth Evangeline (Peterson) Libby, 92, died peacefully Sept. 28, 2005, at a Brewer rehab center. She was born Nov. 2, 1912, in Cranston, R.I., the daughter of Emil and Bessie (Norling) Peterson. Ruth is survived by her loving husband, Sherwood, of Bradford Commons, Bangor, whom she married Feb. 26, 1939 in Brockton, Mass. She is also survived by a son, Eugene Sherwood and his wife, Carolyn of Chepachet, R.I.; a daughter, Ruth Elaine and her husband, Edmund Thibodeau, of Kissimmee, Fla.; three granddaughters, Theresa Brandt of Kumalo Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, Deborah Carney of Pepperell, Mass. and Christine Brady of Leomister, Mass.; two grandsons, Noel of Tacoma, Wash. and David Libby of Olympia, Wash.; 12 great-grandchildren, Tia, Tessa, Trevor and Trinity Brandt, Shayna Carney, Jordan, Madison and Taylor Brady, Noel’s son, Aleric and David’s three sons, Stephan, Adam and Bradford. Ruth is also survived by her beloved brother, Peter and his wife, Fran of Winter Park, Fla. Ruth will be sadly missed by all those named above who loved her dearly. Memorial and committal services will be held at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn, at a date convenient for her family members. Arrangements by Greenlawn Funeral Home, Bangor.
