PATTEN – Ruth Grant, 68, died peacefully Jan. 6, 2004, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Feb. 27, 1935, in Haynesville, the daughter of Benjamin and Vergie (Nason) Taylor. She is survived by six children, Linda “Peanut” Shaw, Kevin Grant, Barry “Boob” Grant, Ricky “Buck” Grant, Rebecca McNinch and Tammy Grant, all of Patten; several grandchildren and several special great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jessie Taylor of Houlton, William Taylor of Patten and Frank Taylor of Massachusetts; several nieces, nehews and cousins. She was predeceased by one son, Paul “Hooty” Grant Jr.; two sisters, Fern Ricker and Frances Stubbs. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, at the Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls, with the Rev. Tom Chandler officiating. Spring interment will be in Patten Cemetery.
