VAN BUREN – Candide M. Grivois, 77, died Jan. 6, 2004 at her son’s residence in Hamlin. She was born in Frenchville, March 4, 1926, the daughter of Levite and Amanda (Langdo) Paradis. She is survived by her husband, Rosaire Grivois of Madawaska; one daughter, Gloria Swarek and her husband, John, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; three sons, James Grivois and his wife, Gaetane of Van Buren, Wallace Grivois and his wife, Susan, of Long Lake, Reynold Grivois and his companion, Theresa Wilson, of Hamlin; four sisters, Cecile Bouchard of Edmundston, N.B., Anita Ouellette and husband, Romeo, of Bristol, Conn., Ramona Campbell and her husband, John, of Greenfield, Mass., Noella Desjardins and her husband, Roger, of St. Jacques, N.B.; one brother, Gilbert Paradis of North Carolina; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Valeda Rushford and Gladys Paradis, and by one brother, Ronald Paradis. Relatives and friends may call at the Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 12 High St., Van Buren, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday and from 12 noon until time of service on Friday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery.
