BRADFORD – Ruth May Hickey, 78, the wife of William J. Hickey XII, died Jan. 6, 2004, at her Bradford residence following a long period of ill health. She was born April 28, 1925, in Bangor, the daughter of Bradford and Charlotte Bell (Ashey) Leighton. She was a member of the Clearwater Spiritualist Church of Dover-Foxcroft. Surviving, in addition to her husband of Bradford, are seven sons, Jeffery of Beverly, Mass., William and his wife, Connie of Greenbush, Bradford of Augusta, Robert of Bradford, Gregory of New Durham, N.H. and Lloyd of Bradford; a son-in-law, Kenneth Donovan of Massachusetts; two daughters, Angeline Jennings and her husband, Robert of LaGrange and Elena Hickey and her husband, Joseph of Salem, Mass.; 21 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by a daughter, Yvonne Beaudry; two brothers, Victor and Charles Dorr and two sisters, Patricia Gerstial and Oweda Riley. Private memorial services will be held in the summer. Arrangements are by the Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth.
