WEST SEDGWICK – Ruth Gray Thompson, 91, died July 17, 2006, at a Penobscot nursing home. She was born Sept. 14, 1914, in Sedgwick, the daughter of Orrin W. and Lucy (Chatto) Gray. She held several different jobs, including cooking at Southwest Harbor, canning fish in Stonington and Rockland, raking blueberries and working at the Penobscot Nursing Home as a nurses’ aide. Ruth is survived by several nieces and nephews and took care of many of them when they needed her. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter; and all nine of her siblings. She was proud to call Gray Town her home for most of her life. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, at Camp Stream Cemetery, West Sedgwick.
