HOULTON and BANGOR – Herbert “Bud” Taylor, 80, died July 16, 2006, at his home, after a battle with cancer. He was born April 21, 1926, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, the son of J. Burton Taylor and Vivien Coulthard. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Houlton. He attended the University of New Brunswick and he was a graduate of the Massachusetts Radio School. He also served in the Royal Canadian Army. He worked for Bell’s Radio Station and Victor Thompson’s Buick and Pontiac. He became owner of Shiretown Auto Body and then, after retirement, he worked as a guard at the Houlton jail. Bud is survived by his wife, Jean; their five children, Kathy, Jim, Bob, Debbie and Andy, and their spouses, Jason, Debbie and Tim; 12 grandchildren, Lisa Troppman, Kristie, Joe and Megan Taylor, Erin, Nate, Nick, Sarah Taylor, Ryan, Brianna, Kassie Callahan and Heather Newman; five great-grandchildren, Jillian Moran, David Pray, Johnson, Cole Troppman and Jessica Newman; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two grandchildren, Jerimiah Taylor and Brandon Troppman. Graveside memorial services will be held 1:30 p.m. July 21 at Evergreen Cemetery.
