BANGOR and VANCEBORO Ruth Irene Sibley, 91, died Jan. 9, 2005, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born April 24, 1913, in Vanceboro the daughter of Thomas and Eurrie (Grass) Beers. Ruth lived for many years in Vanceboro and worked at the Vanceboro Railroad Station and at the Colombia Food Market for many years. She was a member of the WEKS Club in Bangor and the Vanceboro Historical Society. She enjoyed her family, playing cards, knitting, and crossword puzzles. She is survived by her children, Robert Sibley and wife, Dorothy, of Carmel, Loren Sibley and wife, Dorothy, of Bristol, Galen Sibley and wife, Annette, of Vanceboro, Francis Sibley and wife, Shirley, of Veazie; a daughter-in-law, Jeanette Sibley, of Bangor; two brothers, Lester Beers and wife, Muriel, Hugh Beers and wife, Lorena; two sisters, Beverly Petitti and husband, Jon, Constance Allen; 35 grandchildren with one being a special caregiver and helper, Theresa; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, and husband Frank K. Sibley; she was predeceased by a brother, Harold; three sisters, Josephine, June, and Eileen; three children, Sharon, Janis, and Allen; five grandchildren, John, Galen, Paul, Allen, and Jo. Graveside services will be announced in the spring. A service of Memorial Alternatives, 1225 Broadway, Bangor.
