BANGOR – Ruth E. DeCesere, 89, passed away Monday, June 9, 2008, with family by her side. She was born Jan. 19, 1919, in Brewer, daughter of Lewis E. and Addie M. (Segar) Jordan. Ruth was a wonderful, caring, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and aunt to many. She loved to cook, dance and go camping. Ruth leaves five children, David of Milford, Robert and his wife, Peggy, of Orono, Richard of Bangor, John and his wife, JoAnn, of LaGrange, and Polly of Bangor; three grandchildren she raised, Sheila Williamson and her husband, James, of Orrington, Wanda Pacifici and her husband, Rick, of Glenburn, and Lynn Luraschi and her husband, John, of New York; grandchildren, Sheila, Robert, Carole, Susan, Paula, Teresa, Jerry, Tony, Carol, Wanda, Vicki, April, Ginny, David, Paul, Lisa, Darcy, Tracy, John, Derek, Lynn and Ginny; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Paul; daughters, Margaret Ann, Ruthie Jacobs; son, Paul “Grumpy” DeCesere Jr.; sisters, Anna, Peggy, Betty and Ethel; and brothers, Richard, Roy and Armand. A service of remembrance will be held 10 a.m. Friday, June 13, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Judy Ahles, pastor of Carmel Union Congregational Church, officiating. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments after the services Friday at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor.
