BELFAST – Ruth P. French, 98, of Belfast, died Monday Dec. 1, 2003, at a Belfast Hospital. She was born at Belfast, Dec. 28, 1904, the son of Amos M. and Mabel (Simmons) Partridge. Ruth graduated from Crosby High School in the Class of 1922, after which she attended Swain school of design. She moved to Boston in 1942, where she worked for the Boston Ice Co. She worked for many years as a junior accountant for Brooks Brothers in Boston. Ruth was one of the original members of the 8 O’clock Club of the First Church, a former member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club, and a member of the Retail Credit Club of Boston and the Back Bay Guest House Association. She was also a member of the First Church in Belfast. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Frazier French; and one brother, Melzars Partridge. She is survived by a special friend, Avis Howells of Belfast. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, at the family lot in the Grove Cemetery, Belfast, with Rev.
