COREA – Ruth T. Young, 98, died at an Ellsworth hospital June 12, 2004, following a brief illness. She was born July 20, 1905, at Steuben, the daughter of Sherman and Olive (Dunbar) Tucker. Ruth lived in Corea for more than 70 years, where she will be remembered for her flower gardens and doll making. She was an avid genealogist and was a member of the Thomas Rogers Society. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen and husband, Alvin Worcester Jr., of Corea; seven grandchildren, Benny and wife, Sandra, Alvin Worcester III and wife, Janet, Keith Worcester and wife, Cheryl, Kelley Russell and husband, Roland, Mark Young, Manny Young and wife, Maria, and Arthur Young and wife, Rose Mary; 10 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eileen Morey of Arizona, and Nina Devetter of Colorado; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter; and by her son, Vincent. The family would like to thank the staff of Joy Bay Manor in Steuben for their care and support of Ruth. Graveside memorial service will held be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at the Corea Cemetery, Corea.
