RYAN SCOTT WORCESTER ALTON – Ryan Scott Worcester, 17, beloved son of Amy and Donald Young, left us all too soon in a tragic accident, with his best friend and girlfriend, Lindsey Almenas. Ryan was born Oct. 17, 1987, in Bangor. Ryan was in his senior year at Old Town High School. After graduation his plans were to go to Husson College, and study business. He will be remembered for his passion for basketball and his knowledge of the game. His hobbies included an extensive collection of basketball shoes and basketball cards. Surviving in addition to his parents, Amy and Donnie Young; are one sister, Brittnie Young and a brother, Tyler Young, all of Alton; maternal grandparents, Robert “Froggy” and Dinah Worcester of Old Town; paternal grandparents Kenneth and Cora Young of Alton; maternal great-grandfather, Alden Worcester and his wife, Margaret, of Harrington; uncle, Todd Worcester and Aunt Robbie of Kennebunk; special cousins, Whitney and Brooke Worcester of Kennebunk; aunts, Rhonda and her husband, Greg Mayer of Gray, Belinda and her husband, Jerry Arnold, Donna and her husband, Keith Dean, all of North Carolina; uncle, Rodney and his wife, Cathy Young of Louisiana; his birth father and family, James and his wife, Missy Allen of Hancock; sister, Alexandria Allen and brother, Dawson Allen of Hancock; uncles, John and his wife, Sue Allen of Corinth, Stephen and his wife, Shanna Allen of Hermon; aunt, Joy and her husband, Peter Speed of Bradford; many cousins; special paternal grandmother, Norma Allen of Winterport; paternal grandfather, Richard H. Allen of Bangor; paternal great-grandfather, James Reynolds of Brooksville; paternal great-grandmother, Bernice Allen of Bangor. Ryan was predeceased by a special uncle, who had attended all his basketball games, Richard H. Allen Jr. Ryan was blessed to have so many wonderful friends in his life who will miss him greatly. Relatives and friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Friday Sept. 23, 2005, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a celebration of Ryan’s life will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, with the Rev. Allen Archer Pastor of the Church of the Nazarene of East Millinocket officiating. Burial will be at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town.
