BUCKSPORT – Sally Foster Patterson, a beloved sister died Dec. 13, 2005, after a long illness. She was a graduate of Bucksport High School and Colby College. For many years she worked as a programmer for IBM where she had several special assignments including one in Nice, France. After her retirement, she returned to her family home in Bucksport, a beautiful town for which she had a special fondness. She then became the volunteer coordinator for the gift shop at Fort Knox and later was the proprietor of Penobscot Narrows, a gift shop in Bucksport. She was predeceased by her father, James A. Patterson; and her mother, Natalie B. Patterson. She will be sadly missed by her sister, Jane Paxton of Chelsea; her brother, James Patterson and his wife, Deej and their children, Elizabeth and John, of Winterport; her sister, Polly Currier and her husband, Alan and their children, Joshua and Sarah, of Atlanta, Ga.; and her brother, Robert Patterson and his wife, Kathryn and his daughter, Martha, of Bucksport. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friends of Fort Knox, P.O. Box 456, Bucksport, ME 04416. Arrangements by Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
