LINCOLN – Sally I. (Erickson) Deitmer, of 688 Mohawk Road, died peacefully Sept. 12, 2007, at her daughter’s home. She will be sadly missed by her devoted caregivers, Sallyann and Darrell, whom she had lived with since 1997. She is survived by two daughters, Sallyann Joiner, wife of the Rev. Darrell Joiner of Lincoln, and Diane Roth, wife of Dale Roth of Salem, Ore.; grandchildren; a special nephew, Bill Zimmerman; cousins and friends. She was predeceased by two brothers, Carl S.E. Erickson and Oscar Harold Erickson; and by her husband, Charles Deitmer, in 1992. She was born in Worcester, Mass., the daughter of the late Karl Oskar and Anna L. (Krut) Erickson who emigrated from Finland and she was baptized in Finland. Sally graduated from Major Edwards High School, West Boylston, Mass., valedictorian of 1929; and attended the Fairchild Business School and had worked at Norton Co. and Ulians, Inc. She had a beautiful voice that could always be picked out among others in the church choir in West Boylston, Mass. She had been a member of the Berlin Tuesday Club, Evening Guild, Berlin Girl Scout leader, and a past member of the Hudson Corinthian Chapter, O.E.S. many years ago. She was a member of the Congregational Church, Lincoln. She will be fondly remembered for her culinary and homemaking skills. Her home and her family came first in her life, and she used all her creative talents to make a comfortable and loving environment for them. Her children were blessed in countless ways to have such a loving, caring, and devoted mother. She was a great sports enthusiast, enjoyed crosswords and playing cards, and the Boston Red Sox.
