MIDLAND, Texas – Sandra Peavey Nolen, 67, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, at her residence after a brief illness. Sandra was born Feb. 18, 1939, in Bangor, to Russell and Geneva Peavey. Sandra attended Mount Ida Junior College, Newton, Mass., and she continued to be a strong supporter of the college throughout her life. She was involved with Meals on Wheels, St. Ann’s Catholic Church Altar Society, and the Girl Scouts. Sandra loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed the outdoors and animals, and had a special fondness for horses. She also loved entertaining friends and family during the summer at her home at Sandy Point, overlooking Penobscot Bay. But most of all, Sandra was a woman of great faith, who loved Jesus and was devoted to His Blessed Mother, Mary. Survivors include her husband, Ken Nolen; four children, Lynne Davis and husband, Fred, Mark Nolen and wife, Donna, Laurie Messer and husband, Bart, Linda Young-Owens and husband, Doug; 13 grandchildren, Lauren and Joseph Young, Emily and Amanda Owens, Russell, Richard and Hallie Messer, Miranda and Trey Davis, Justin, Christopher and Casey Nolen and Patrick Klinke; one great-grandchild, Carter Ryan Nolen; and two nephews, Michael and Marc Grock. She was predeceased by her parents; and one brother, Forrest Peavey. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church with Fr. James Bridges officiating. Interment will be at Rest-haven Memorial Park. A rosary and visitation will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Stephen’s. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 2304 W. Wadley, Midland, TX 79705.
