PRESQUE ISLE – Shawn Patrick Carney, 41, died March 27, 2006, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born, Aug. 17, 1964, in Hartford, Conn., the son of Gilman and Elaine (Swett) Carney. Shawn was a caring and loving friend to anyone and everyone. He was especially proud of and loved his American pit bull Kane, his very best friend. He also enjoyed football and was a big Philadelphia Eagles fan. He is survived by his sister, Norma Carney and husband, Ronnie; brothers, Rickey Carney and wife, Peggy, all of Ashland, Robert “Bobby” Carney of Wallingford, Conn. and Troy Carney and wife, Marie, of Mapleton; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. A very special thank you goes to Sara Charette and Judy Hanks for all their loving care to Shawn. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Funeral services will be conducted 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. Clement Thibodeau officiating. Interment will be in the Sheriden Cemetery later in the spring.
