CAMBRIDGE – Sheldon G. Elliott, 74, died Sept. 26, 2005, at Mayo Regional Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft, with his family at his side. He was born Aug. 10, 1931, in Melrose, Mass., the son of Gayland and Helen (Meuse) Elliott. Sheldon lived for most of his life in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, where he was involved with car sales for more than 25 years. In 1984, he moved to Lubec and later moved to Cambridge in 2002. He was a member of the Penobscot Masonic Lodge, Dexter, the Scottish Rite, Anah Temple Shrine and was a Past District Deputy of the Second Masonic District. He is survived by five sons, Richard of Lowell, Mass., Ronald of Enfield, N.H., James of Lubec, Douglas of Milton, N. H. and Jeffrey of Florida; three stepsons, Arthur Jette and fianc?e, Deborah Cunningham, of Garland, Robert and his wife, Donna Jette, of Bedford, N.H. and Mark Jette of Boston, Mass.; two stepdaughters, Linda Elliott of Gilford, N.H., Diane Jette of Haverhill, Mass.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; a sister, Nancy Gallagher of Canada; a brother, Melvin Elliott of Washington. He was predeceased by his wife, Madeline (Cartier) Elliott; and a brother, Roger Elliott. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at his home, 150 Bailey Rd., Cambridge. Burial will be in West Garland Cemetery. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter.
