SHERMAN ANDREW DAVIS JR. ELLSWORTH – Sherman Andrew “Andy” Davis Jr., 79, died March 29, 2006, at a Bar Harbor healthcare facility. He was born Aug. 10, 1926, in Otter Creek, the son of Sherman Andrew and Margaret Etta (Ward) Davis Sr. He was a member of the Pentecostal Lighthouse Church in Town Hill. Sherman is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Avis M. Davis; two sons, Fred A. Davis and wife, Evelyn, of Town Hill and Sherman E. Davis and wife, Laurie, of Hancock; two daughters, April H. Connors and husband, Peter, of Georgetown and Elaine M. Bragdon and husband, Timothy, of Mechanics Falls; three stepchildren, John F. and Vincent A. Lewey and Lilias LaForest; one brother, Edwin D. Davis and wife, Dora, of West Pembroke; and one sister, Audrey Applebee and husband, Everett, of Ellsworth; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Ruthann Ellen Davis; and a brother, Florentine Davis. Friends are invited to call 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, April 3, at Jordan-Fernald, 48 Eden St., Bar Harbor, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m., with Pastor Michael Cox officiating. Interment will be at Otter Creek Cemetery, Otter Creek. Friends are asked to make gifts in Andy’s memory to the Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, P.O.
