DES MOINES, Iowa – Shirley Berg Bassman, 85, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, after a long illness. She was born April 17, 1921, to Abraham and Lena Berg. Shirley graduated from Bangor High School and the University of Maine. In addition to her husband of 60 years, Morris, she leaves her sons, Joel and Dr. Jeffrey and his fiance, Pam Mally; daughter, Roberta Wynn and her husband, Robert; brother, Dr. Howard Berg and his wife, Norma, of Bangor; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held in Iowa.
