LINCOLN – Shirley Helen Davis Lancaster, 78, died Aug. 24, 2006, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born May 21, 1928, in Lincoln, the daughter of Dean and Idella (Knowlen) Davis. Shirley loved music and writing poetry. She had a sense of style and color. The flowers that she tended always bloomed. All things beautiful were a joy to Shirley. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Louis Lancaster; and by a sister, Elaine Shorey. She is survived by one sister, Wilma and her husband, Earl Jipson; two children, Gayland Lancaster of Ocala, Fla., and Barbara and her husband, Jimmy Dill, of Englewood, Fla.; three grandchildren, Erik and Tracy Dill, Ryan and Lorna Dill and Michelle Martone; four great-grandchildren, Riley, Keegan, Ashley and Jessica; a special friend, Andrew Bisson; several nieces and nephews; and friends, Bobby and Winnifred Brooks; and Aunt Win. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating.
