VERO BEACH, Fla. – Mrs. Shirley M. Westerman, 89, died March 26, 2007, at Vero Beach Memorial Hospital, Vero Beach, Fla. She was born Feb. 22, 1918, in Zanesville, Ohio, the second daughter of William P. and Ruth Mackey. Mrs. Westerman graduated from Wooster High School in 1934, Wooster College in 1938 and the University of Michigan School of Nursing, June 1940. On Nov. 11, 1940 she married Harold S. Westerman. During the 1950s and 1960s Mrs. Wes-terman was director of Camp Wawanock for Girls of The Wavus Camps, Jefferson. She was always an active member of The First Methodist Church, Orono, where the Westermans resided for 33 years. Mrs. Westerman is survived by her husband, Harold S. Westerman and their four children, Sandra J. Westerman of Port Orford, Ore., Pamela K. Westerman Tavelli of Sierre, Switzerland, David S. Westerman of Moretown, Vt., and Gary S. Westerman of Poland Spring, as well as 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
