CHARLESTON – Stanley “Jack” E. Clark Jr. passed away March 18, 2005, at his home after a short bout with cancer. He was born Aug. 4, 1934, in Howland, to Avis (Staples) and Stanley Clark Sr. Jack attended Howland Elementary and graduated at 16 from Morse Memorial High School in Brooks. Jack moved to Ohio in ’53 where he worked 25 years for American Aggregates Corp., leaving as district office manager supervising seven plant offices. Jack moved to South Eastern Ohio, where he worked part time for seven years at the post office. He was in France for a year during his six year army stint. In 1981, Jack returned to Maine and with friend Tom, co-partnered a personal care home called “Art-Stan” Acres in Exeter. Due to Tom’s ill health they retired to Little Pushaw and then in 1990, they came to their present home. He was an active member of the Bradford Baptist Church. If you knew or met Jack nothing more needs to be said. He was a one of a kind man and will be greatly missed. His light shone bright. Jack was predeceased by his parents, and one brother, Vernon “Stubby” Clark of Jackson. He is survived by his life-long best friend, Arthur “Tom” Wade; his only sister and her husband, Jeanette and Floyd Pomeroy of Bangor; two brothers and their wives, Horace “Bud” and Helen Clark of Jacksonville, Fla., Dennis and Pam Clark of Charleston; one aunt and uncle, Myrtle “Tootie” and Omer Reed of Howland. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and so many friends. Service will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Bradford United Baptist Church with Pastor Donald Booker officiating. Friends may call from noon until the time of service. Friends and family are invited for a time of fellowship and refreshment at the church following the service. Spring Burial will be announced at a later date. Jack requested that those who wish send donations to Bradford Baptist Church Building Fund, care of Deb Libby, 35 Harris Road, Charleston, ME, 04422. Arrangements are by Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth. Jack wanted to especially thank Corinth Family Medicine and their wonderful staff, especially Joanne and Shelia and Hospice of St. Joe’s, especially, Janice and Jayne. Thanks to Dr. Rao for his help over the past few years and an extra special thanks to Pastor Don and our wonderful Church Family for all your prayers and support. I love every one of you.
