FORT KENT – Stephen “Vance” Ketzel, 2, “Mommy’s Little Angel”, died Sept. 8, 2004, at Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent. He was born Aug. 23, 2002, in Tallahassee, Fla., the son of Katherine Burkes of Fort Kent and Stephen Ketzel of Jacksonville, Fla. Vance had a wonderful smile, which will be dearly missed. In addition to both his parents, he is survived by his grandparents, Steven and Kim Burkes of Tallahassee and Dave and Lauri Guthrie of Tallahassee; two uncles and two aunts, Bridgett and Shelby Burkes, Justine and Alex Guthrie; two great-grandmothers, Cleo Champagne of Mexico Beach, Fla. and Joyce Ketzel of Tallahassee, Fla.; one great-grandfather, Chuck Ketzel of Orlando, Fla. He is also survived by Catherine’s special friend, Scott, who was like a father to Vance and Jack, Marielle, Cathy and Allexis, Vance’s extended family. Friends may call 8 a.m. Monday, Sept. 13, at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, for a celebration of a memorial for a deceased child with the Rev. Claude Gendreau officiating. Vance will be having a funeral service in Tallahassee, Fla., at a later date.
