WINTERPORT – Stephen W. LaSota, 61, husband of Sharon (Morrill) LaSota, passed away April 23, 2008, surrounded by his family, at his home. He was born Sept. 23, 1946, in Boston, the son of Ben and Marjorie Folsom. Steve served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War for two years. He loved the sea and building boats. He was a commercial fisherman and for many years worked building Boston Whalers. He also enjoyed camping, spending time with his nephew, Trey, joking around and going to Speedway 95 to watch his nephews, Joey and Fred race. Steve will be remembered for his great sense of humor and for how people loved him. He is survived by his wife, Sharon of Winterport; children, Sharon Jones and husband, Donald and their children, Ashley and Stephen, of Georgia, Caron Yates of Pennsylvania, and Stephen Folsom of Ohio; mother-in-law, Nancy Morrill; sister-in-law, Barbie Doyon and husband, Roger; Niece, Stacy Brown, who Steve called “Betty Crocker,” and husband, Fred “Pee Wee”; very special nephews, Trey Brown and Joey Doyon, all of Winterport; brother, Charles Folsom and wife, Mary Lou; and nephew, Charlie Folsom and wife, Suzanne and their son, Aden, all of Bangor. The thanks Community Health Services Hospice Care, staff of CancerCare of Maine, the many friends at the Wednesday support group, and Bucksport Regional Health staff, and a very special thank you to Dr. Biswar. A gathering of family and friends will be held noon Saturday, April 26, at Steve and Sharon’s home, 115 Boston Road, Winterport. Everyone is asked to bring a joke.
