KENLY, N.C. and GARLAND – Sterling Wayne Brown, 53, died Oct. 24, 2005, in Kenly, N.C., as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born April 17, 1952, in Dexter, the son of Inez and Raymond Brown. Sterling worked for Milo and Dexter shoe shops for years. In 1996, he moved to North Carolina where he worked as a farmer. He is survived by a daughter, Amy Olivares of North Carolina; two stepsons, Cory Sprague of Atkinson and Forrest Davis of St. Albans; two stepdaughters, Cheri Kane of Ellsworth and Joy Sherburne of Dexter; a grandson, Jesse Brown of North Carolina; 10 step-grandchildren; his mother of Winthrop; three sisters, Sheila Taylor and her husband, Chuck, of Massachusetts, Cynthia Estabrook and her husband, George, of Winthrop and Paula Little and her husband, Danny, of Falmouth; a brother, Stephen D. Brown and his wife, Becky, of Corinna; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Raymond M. Brown; and a sister, Brenda Brown. He will be sadly missed by all, including a great friend and boss, Donnell and his wife, Lou Stancil, of North Carolina; also Chubby and Vivian Fields of Exeter and Earl Burtt of Dexter. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at the West Garland Cemetery, with Pastor A. Maurice Neal officiating.
