TROY – Steven Allen Fletcher, 53, died May 21, 2008, at a Waterville hos-pital, after a long illness. He was born Dec. 3, 1954, at Loring Air Force Base, Limestone, the son of Herbert L. and Angie G. (Temple) Fletcher. In his early years, Steven traveled with his parents, as his father was on active duty in the military. He graduated from Robinson High School, Tampa, Fla., Class of 1972. Steven was a U.S. Army veteran during the Vietnam era. During his time in the Army he served a year in Germany. He was an active member of American Legion Post No. 50, Unity. Steven was an avid card player and enjoyed weekly cribbage games and traveled all over the local area to play in cribbage tournaments. He also loved visiting with friends and family. He was a longtime member of Nightdriftes Snowmobile Club, Detroit. Steven is survived by his parents, Herbert and Angie Fletcher of Troy; two brothers and their wives, David and Judy Fletcher of Troy and Brian and Linda Fletcher of Troy; nieces and nephews, Angel Fletcher of Manchester, N.H., Amber and husband, Justin Reynolds, of Morrill, Tom Fletcher and wife, Donna, of Thondike, and Justin Fletcher of Troy; two great-nephews, Landon and Chase Fletcher of Thondike; several aunts, uncles and cousins. A celebration of Steven’s life will be announced. Graveside services with military honors will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, May 30, at Rogers Cemetery, Troy, with the Rev. Liz Sullivan officiating.
