JACKSON – Steven Carl Raleigh, 53, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2006, at his home. He was born Aug. 27, 1952, in Wilmington, Del., the son of Amelia (Parsons) and Charles Raleigh Jr. He was raised in Pennsville, N.J., before moving to Jackson in 1973. He was a leadman for the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad and a member of the transportation union. Steven was active in the 1960’s, counterculture movement and worked at many music festivals. He was the poetry man, and an avid gardener, enjoyed fishing, music, working on cars and was a certified bridge welder. He was a devoted and loving father who always had time for a game of catch and enjoyed coaching baseball and basketball. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Jeremiah Raleigh; and a brother, Charles Raleigh II. Steven is survived by his children, Nathan Steven Raleigh and Amanda Suzan Raleigh and their mother, Michelle Phoenix Rosewood; and two brothers, Harvel Ronald Raleigh and Jerry Parsons.
