ELLSWORTH and MARS HILL – Steven W. Barnes, 48, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at an Ellsworth health care facility. Steven was born Sept. 4, 1958, in Waterbury, Conn., the son of Lewis and Viola (Dumond) Barnes. He grew up in the Mars Hill area and attended local schools. He loved to hunt, fish, go camping and four-wheeling. He is survived by a brother, Vernon Barnes and his wife, Joanne, of Mapleton; three sisters, Margaret Morin and her husband, Dennis, of Westfield, Sherry Theriault and her husband, Michael, of Presque Isle and Susan Barnes of Houlton; a special aunt, Judy Holmes; a special uncle, Kenney Dumond, both of Mars Hill; a special friend, Mary Richards of Blaine; four nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Larry Barnes. A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Duncan Funeral Home, Mars Hill, with Pastor Victor Hartley officiating. Friends may call noon until the time of service. Interment will take place in the spring at Tapley Cemetery, Blaine.
