CLIFTON and VAN BUREN Sue A. Violette died Sept. 11, 2006, surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Sue was born March 30, 1955, in Biddeford. Sue was an elementary teacher for many years in the Van Buren school system, but she was also a teacher for many years during her battle with cancer. She taught people to stop and smell the roses, to accept each day as a gift and to live life as such. Through her courage, love and faith, Sue has touched the lives of many on her path of life. She will be sadly missed by her husband and best friend, Richard of Clifton; daughters, Elizabeth of Bangor and Kate and her fiance, Jamie, of Nashville, Tenn.; sister, Shirley and husband, Gary, of California; brothers, Francis and wife, Rhonda, of Bangor, Joseph and wife, Pam, of North Carolina and Robert and wife, Nancy, of Bangor. She is survived by a special family that Sue spent a season of her life with, Tim, Jane Marie and Christopher, the children of Gene and Joan Rice. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, with Pastor Gary Turgeon officiating.
