LUBEC – Susie A. Cousins died Feb. 27, 2007, at the Oceanview Nursing Home, Lubec, after a brief illness. She was born in Lubec, to Garnet and Bessie (Leighton) Murphy. Susie was educated in the Lubec school system. Her life was devoted to her children and she supported, cared for, and loved them immensely, as well as her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and traveling to London, New York, Virginia and finally returning to Maine with her Navy husband. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Charles; a daughter, Katherine and husband, William Levine, of Arizona; a son, Kevin Grindle of Lubec; a sister, Martha Murphy of Portland; a brother, Joe and wife, Lorraine, of Lubec; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a special niece, Heidi and her husband, Donnie Richardson; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; two sons, Nelson and Bruce; a brother, Mick; two sisters, Bet and Gladys; and a special niece, Joanne Mahar. There will be no calling hours or funeral service. There will be a family graveside service at a later date. Arrangements are in care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Lubec.
