DEXTER – Sylvia M. Payne, 80, died Nov. 28, 2005, at a Dexter healthcare facility. She was born Dec. 19, 1924, at Dexter, a daughter of Joseph and Annie Clukey. Sylvia was a communicant of St. Anne’s Church in Dexter. She was employed by the Dexter Shoe Company for 18 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold C. Payne, who died Nov. 10, 1999. She is survived by three sons, Edward and wife, Melody, Peter and wife, Kathy, and Andrew Payne all of Dexter; three brothers, Galen and Nelson Clukey, both of Dexter and Nazier Clukey of Sangerville; a sister, Winnifred Daigle of Dexter; three grandchildren. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main St., Dexter, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, with the Rev. Fr. Paul Pare officiating.
