BRUNSWICK – Teresa M. Cossaboom, 69, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, at Hawthorne House, Freeport. She was born Nov. 19, 1936, in Houlton, a daughter of Clair and Norma DeGrasse Scanlon. She was raised in Sherman Mills and graduated from Sherman Mills High School. As a young lady, she moved to Freeport and was employed at Lewiston Trust Bank and Depositors Trust Bank. She married George E. Cossaboom March 2, 1957, in Freeport. Mr. and Mrs. Cossaboom moved to Bangor where she was employed at Merrill Trust Company. They lived throughout the United States during Mr. Cossaboom’s career in the U.S. Air Force. After his retirement in 1978, they moved to Brunswick from Bedford, Mass. Mrs. Cossaboom was employed at Key Bank, Freeport, the Navy Exchange, and in the cafeteria at Longfellow School, Brunswick. She enjoyed her dogs, cats, canning, crafts, photography, and her vegetable and flower gardens. She was a volunteer for Unisef and Little Wanderers, Freeport. Besides her husband, George of Brunswick, she is survived by her four daughters, Rowanne Cossaboom and her husband, Alvin Tryon, of Abilene, Texas, Brenda Laughton of Gardner, Karen Johnson and her husband, Dale, of Fort Smith, Ark. and Patricia Goodenow and her husband, Richard, of Farmingdale; a brother, James Scanlon and his wife, Cecile, of Bangor; a sister, Louise Morgan of Greene; as well as 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A family gathering will be held 9-9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006. Friends and family are invited to visit 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday at the Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ronald McLaughlin officiating. Interment will be at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.
