LEWISTON – Thaddee F. Longtin, 76, died Feb. 7, 2004, at CMMC in Lewiston, after a 17 year battle with Parkinson Disease. He was born Jan. 17, 1928, in Topsham, the son of Henri and Anne Marie (Ruest) Longtin. Ted worked in various roles throughout his life, from factory and farm work to food service where he found his true niche. He graduated from culinary school after the age of 40, and retired as food service director from Bangor Mental Health Institute in Bangor in 1993. He continued employment at Oak Park Apartments in Lewiston where he made lifelong friends with residents and staff. His greatest passion in life was music. He liked nothing better than to dance all night or enjoy friends and family around the piano. He was a member of the Auburn Catholic Community of Sacred Heart Church. Ted’s essence can be described in his dedication and commitment to his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Murielle (Bergeron) Longtin of Lewiston; his children, Russell Longtin of Johnson, Vt., Linda Hill and husband, Robert, of Stratham, N.H., Raymond and wife, Noella, of Dickson, Tenn., Janet Morin and husband, Marc, of Lewiston, Joline Sheehy and husband, Paul, of Brewer, Debra Plourde and husband, Richard, of Auburn, Brenda Longtin of Lewiston, Richard and life partner, Denis, of Saco, Robert and wife, Melinda, of South Berwick, Peggy Wilbur and husband, Scott, of Greene, Helen Thibodeau and husband, Rick, of Greene, Randy and wife, Darlene, of Orrington, Christine Longtin and life partner, Gail, of Brewer, Carlene West and husband, Bill, of Orrington; two sisters, Aline and Pauline Longtin of Lewiston; and two brothers, Henry and his wife, Yvette, of Lewiston and Roland of Rochester, N.Y.; 23 grandchildren; and 10 great-grand children. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Sacred Heart Church. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
