BANGOR and BREWER Thelma L. Peavey, 96, wife of the late F. Arnold Peavey, died May 22, 2007, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Oct. 5, 1910, in Addison, the daughter of Nellie A Grant. Thelma was a member of the Columbia Street Baptist Church, Bangor. She worked at Freese’s department store, Bangor, as a store clerk for several years. Thelma enjoyed her several family dogs especially Chubby. She is survived by two nephews, Ralph Grant and his wife, Charlene, of Bucksport, and Charles Oliver and his wife, Susan, of Lee; several great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her mother and her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. A funeral service will be celebrated 1 p.m. Friday, May 25, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, with the Rev. Peter Sprague, pastor of Columbia Street Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
