VEAZIE – Thelma Gertrude Turner, 91, a longtime resident of Veazie, died Oct. 23, 2006, at an Orono health care center. She was born Sept. 6, 1915, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Joseph Buck and Agnes A. (Peasley) Sibley. Thelma was a member for more than 50 years of All Souls Congregational Church where she was active for many years in the church school. She was also a 16-year volunteer at the Eastern Maine Medical Center. Surviving are a niece, Elaine Mitchell of Veazie; and one nephew, Ernest Atwell Blaisdell of Pennsylvania. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert F. Turner; a daughter, Dawn Marilyn Turner; and a son, Galen F. Turner. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Renee U. Garrett Div., minister of Christian Nurture of All Souls Congregational Church, officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Veazie.
