ST. BASILE, New Brunswick Theodore E. “Ted” Michaud, 77, passed away peacefully May 10, 2007, at the St. Joseph nursing home in St. Basile, New Brunswick. Ted was born Jan. 3, 1930, in Edmundston, New Brunswick, the son of Edwin Michaud and Yvette Cayer; his mother passed away when he was nine years old. Then he was raised by a second mom to him, his father’s second wife, Rose Martin Michaud. He was a Korean War veteran and worked at Fraser Paper Ltd., for 39 years retiring as a beater engineer. He was predeceased by his wife, Carmen Cyr; and a stepson, Albert Lajoie. He will be missed by one stepson, Gerald; three stepdaughters, Mona, Jacqueline and Ann; one brother, Guy Michaud of Madawaska; and four sisters, Fabiola Matalonis of Pennsylvania, Lorraine Deering of Pittsfield, Yvette Morton of Wisconsin, and Elizabeth “Liz” Johnson of New Hampshire. Per his request there will be no viewing. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Atlantic time, May 12, at St. Basile Catholic Church, St. Basile, New Brunswick. Interment will be at St. Basile Cemetery.
