BREWER and MILFORD – Theodore G. Briggs, 88, died Monday, March 8, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. He was born July 21, 1915, in Ludlow, the son of Theodore S. and Lillian (Tingley) Briggs. Ted graduated from Mapleton High School in 1934. He was a master electrician and retired from Diamond International after 26 years. He was a 52-year member of the Olive Branch Lodge No. 124 A.F. & A.M. of Charleston, and a lifetime member of the Old Town Chapter No. 68, R.A.M. He loved reading, the outdoors, and tending his vegetable gardens for many years. Later he enjoyed bowling and belonged to the senior league at the Bangor/Brewer Bowling Lane and Family Fun Lane. He very much enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rose (Jack) Briggs of Brewer; two daughters, Annette Briggs Miles and her husband, Arthur, of Hancock, Paula Briggs Hurt and her husband, Marc, of Olathe, Kan.; seven grandchildren, Glenn Miles and his wife, Cheryl, of Standish, John McKinney and his wife, Shazon, of Roeland Park, Kan., Joel Miles and his wife, Stephannie, of Charlotte, N.C., Jason McKinney and his wife, Michella, of Peoria, Ariz. Adam Drake and his wife, Beth, of Honolulu, Hawaii, Ethan Drake of Overland Park, Kan., Amy Hurt of Olathe, Kan.; six great-grandchildren, Alysha and Justin Miles of Standish, Tabitha and Pearl McKinney of Peoria, Ariz., Maeve and Stella Mckinney (who shares the same birthday as her great grandfather) of Roeland Park, Kan.; and one niece, Susan Schultz of Spartanburg, S.C. At Ted’s request funeral services will be private for the family Wednesday, March 10, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, with Pastor Ron Chaffee, of the Old Town United Methodist Church, officiating. Spring interment will be at Williams Cemetery, Bradford.
