CASTINE – Louise C. Brown, 90, died on Sunday, March 7, 2004, in Lincoln. She was born on Aug. 11, 1913, in Penobscot, the daughter of Rochelle and Maerea (Marks) Conner. She graduated from Castine High School and Eastern State Normal School, where she was a star basketball player. Louise loved life, Castine, and being at the wharf with her many friends. She worked 36 years at Robertshaw Controls in Milford, Conn. Louise belonged to the Interchurch Parish Church, Dr. Mary Cushman Circle and the Penobscot Historical Society. She is survived by her daughter, Jan Dougherty of Phoenix, Ariz.; granddaughter, Coleen Bell; grandson, Sean Dougherty; and a great-granddaughter, Jennifer Bell, all of Arizona; two nieces, Gayle Morrisey of Swampscott, Mass., Dawn Pinkham Crocker and her husband, Clayton, of Howland, who were very special to her; four great-nieces, Judith Pinkham, Kate Derwin, Carole Echanis and Alison Lebhar; one great-nephew, Will Morrisey. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas; and son Malcolm. Services will be held at a later date this spring, at the Interchurch Parish Church with the Rev. Bill Frederich and Rev. Clayton Crocker officiating. Interment will be in the Castine Cemetery, Castine. Donation may be made in her memory to the Interchurch Parish Church of Castine, P.O. Box 108 Castine, ME 04421.
