MILLINOCKET – Theresa Marie (Wallace) Jarvis went home to be with her Lord after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer, Dec. 31, 2007. Born on the fourth of July in 1925, in Howland, she was the daughter of James G. and Ellen E. (Lugdon) Wallace. She was educated in the Howland school system while working at Atlas Plywood Mill. After graduating, Theresa lived in Meriden, Conn., and worked at International Silver. She met the love of her life and moved back to Maine to marry Gordon F. “Sonny” Jarvis. The happy couple lived their entire married life in East Millinocket, where Theresa was a stay at home mom. She kept her home immaculate and there was always the wonderful scent of something baking. For many years, Theresa freely gave of her time to her neighbors, always helping them with any of their needs. She had the ability to make everyone feel welcome and at home. No one ever left her home feeling hungry. Theresa enjoyed making and selling her famous fudge and beautiful cakes. She also enjoyed crafts, music, dancing and yodeling while working in the kitchen. Theresa was a wonderful mom, a fantastic grandmother, as well as a loving great-grandmother. She devoted her entire life to her family. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Gordon F. “Sonny” Jarvis; her parents; one sister, Reta Fleming; four brothers, Leonard, William, Donald, and Sheldon and his wife, Alice, a very dear sister-in-law. She is survived by her two sons, Thomas E. Jarvis and his wife, Anne, of Lewiston, and John M. Jarvis and his wife, Susan, of Wells Beach; her daughter, Jeanmarie Myers and her husband, Jon, of East Millinocket; two granddaughters, Angela D. (Meyers) Kneeland and her husband, Michael, of Estero, Fla., and Theresa M. (Myers) Perry and her husband, Carl, of East Waterboro; three great-grandchildren, Kirstyn J. Perry, Trevor L. Perry and Jonathan D. Kneeland; two sisters, her devoted sister, Gloria Jones and her husband, Charles, of Millinocket, Ellen Danforth and her husband, Everette, of Bangor; sisters-in-law, Geraldine Wallace and Celia Wallace; her brothers, Frank and his wife, Alice, of East Millinocket, Gerald and his wife, Florence, of Meriden, Conn., and Ronald and his wife, Imogene, of Passadumkeag; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Jarvis, and Rita Nesbitt and her husband, Don, all of East Millinocket; several nieces and nephews. Theresa also leaves behind many friends at Katahdin Nursing Home who became her second family while she enjoyed the activities there. Friends are invited to share with the family 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where the Daughters of Isabella, St. Ann’s Circle, will conduct a Rosary service 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at St. Peters Catholic Church, 58 Cedar St., East Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider. Spring interment will be at East Millinocket Cemetery.
