NEW LIMERICK – May Kitchen Severson, 92, died Jan. 1, 2008, at a local health care facility. She was born May 18, 1915, in Houlton, the daughter of Arthur S. and Eva (Whittier) Kitchen. May was a member of Houlton Unitarian Church, and was a graduate of Houlton High School, Class of 1932 and University of Maine – Presque Isle. She received her teaching degree at Treton State, N.J., and taught school for 28 years in Maine and New Jersey. May is survived by her son, Gary Severson; her daughter-in-law, Linda Severson, both of Houlton; her grandson, Parker Severson of Los Angeles; a niece, Susan Kluge of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; a nephew, Dr. James K. Archibald of Montreal, Quebec; several great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Leta K. Archibald and Nina K. Berry. At May’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
