WOODLAND and CARIBOU Thomas E. Skidgel, 84, died Oct. 28, 2006, in Caribou. He was born Sept. 17, 1922, in Woodland, the son of Jerry and Carrie (Libby) Skidgel. Mr. Skidgel served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a life member of the Lister Knowlton Post No. 9389 VFW and was a member of the Henry B. Pratt Post No. 15 American Legion. He was employed as a trackman for the B&A Railroad for more than 23 years. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Maxine Skidgel of Woodland; are five daughters, Penny Miller and Donna Stanhope, both of West Virginia, Paula Graham of New Hampshire, Amanda Skidgel of Woodland and Trudi LaPointe of Caribou; three brothers, Cecil Skidgel of South Carolina, Melvin Skidgel of Kansas and Edwin Skidgel of Limestone; one sister, Barbara Johndro of Limestone; several grandchildren, great-grand-children, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, from the chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, with the Revs. Carroll and Brenda Farley officiating. Interment will be at the Woodland Cemetery.
