CHAPMAN – Thomas F. Page passed away quietly in his sleep at a Presque Isle healthcare facility, Oct. 26, 2005, fighting a long hard battle with Alzheimer’s. Tom was born to Thomas and Alma (Michaud) Page, July 24, 1927, on the family farm in Chapman, where he lived his entire life. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends but his quiet presence will be cherished. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Tom was an avid hunter, fisherman and pilot but what he loved most was being with his family and friends. Sitting around with his family, even if it was at the kitchen table, or reminiscing with friends and telling jokes around the camp in the woods, made him most happy. Tom was always willing to share his interests with family and friends and delighted in seeing people enjoy his hobbies as well. Many people have enjoyed their first plane ride, shooting their first deer or had their first canoe trip up the Presque Isle Stream. The past three years Tom was also loved and cared for by the wonderful nurses and staff at the Personal Enrichment Center at the Presque Isle Nursing Home. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marie (Ouellette) Page; his children, Alan T. Page of Chapman and Carla Page Catlett of Presque Isle. Tom and Marie have five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; grandchildren, Tyler Page, Marci Page and Alex Page of Presque Isle, Evan Catlett of Orange, Texas and Terina Catlett of Presque Isle; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Zander Page of Presque Isle, Hayden, Madelynn and Emma Catlett of Orange Texas; a brother, Dennis Page of Westmont, Ill.; and a sister, Phyllis Cavallini of Abingdon, Va.; several brothers and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. Predeceasing him besides his parents was a brother, Nelson Page, sisters; Avis O’Brien and Gertrude Thompson. There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Main Street in Presque Isle with the Rev. Raymond Morency celebrant. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Unit’s activity fund at the Presque Isle Nursing Home; or the building fund at St. Mary’s. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home in Presque Isle.
