HOULTON – Thomas R. McNally, 79, died Oct. 25, 2006, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor, after a long illness. He was born Aug. 31, 1927, in Houlton, the son of Alice Shields and Thomas W. McNally. Tom served in the U.S. Navy for 11 months after high school and was honorably discharged. He worked for the First National Stores in many departments as well as a manager until they closed. He worked at Houlton International and retired from there in 1989. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elderine (Martin) McNally of Houlton; nine children, Anne and Richard Gill of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Kenneth and Jane McNally of East Waterboro, Gary McNally of Houlton, Karen and Ed Skvarch of Fort Pierce, Fla., Matthew McNally and Une Kyong of North Carolina, Lorrie and Mark Smith of Aliquppa, Pa., Janice McNally of Holden, Stephen and Paula McNally of Scarborough and Gregory and Emily McNally of Mount Prospect, Ill.; 13 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeff, Aaron, Justin, Jessica, Chris, Brian, Luke, Sam, Amy, Sara, Evan and Andrew; three great-grandchildren, Zackary, Hannah and Rebecca; and two sisters, Alice Mulholland, Florence and Maynard Frank. He was predeceased by one son, Michael; a brother, Donald; and sister, Marion Furrow. Friends may call 12:30-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. with Deacon Albert Burleigh officiant.
