EAGLE LAKE – Thomas Saucier Jr., 63, died peacefully and returned to the Lord surrounded by his loved ones in his daughter’s home, March 7, 2006. Thomas was born in Biddeford, Sept. 10, 1942, the son of Thomas Sr. and Laura Saucier. Tom was a member of the American Legion Post No. 176 in Eagle Lake and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. of Presque Isle. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in Wallagrass, on Jan. 24, 1961, where he served on the U.S.S. Fort Snelling, and was honorably discharged Jan. 22, 1965, in Bainbridge, Md. Tom worked as a master oil boiler technician operator, receiving many awards throughout his 20 plus years of service. He will be fondly remembered for having a great passion for the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and enjoyed these past three years of retirement; snowmobiling, and fishing off his pontoon boat, “his pride and joy.” He was also a member of the Sly Brook Trail Blazers ATV club. Tom will be remembered for having a special skill for “burning up” the dance floor on a Saturday night. He also loved to hunt with his two brothers-in-law and three nephews. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by two daughters who cared for him at the end of his days, Laurie Buckley and husband, Patrick, of Westfield and Tina Saucier of Caribou. Also surviving are his mother, Laura Saucier of Wallagrass; two loving sisters, Norma Soucy and her husband, Roger, of Presque Isle, and Charlene Labbe and her husband, Dennis, of Nobleboro. He was blessed with five beautiful granddaughters, Brooke, Jodie and Jordan Buckley of Westfield, Ashley and Amber Ayotte of Caribou; three special nephews, Keith Thibodeau and wife, Lisa, of Cleveland, Ga., Scott and Julie Soucy of Clayton, N.C., Michael and Christine Soucy of Bridgeton; one special niece, Lisa Howard and husband, Brian, of Nobleboro; one special friend, Patricia (Saucier) Bagley of Mapleton. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by several uncles, aunts and cousins. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday until time of departure for Eagle Lake, at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial, with full military honors, will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eagle Lake, with the Rev. Clement Thibodeau officiating. Spring burial will be held May 19, 2006, at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Wallagrass. In his memory those who wish may donate to Hospice of Aroostook, P.O.
