CORINTH – Eunice F. Thompson, 94, the wife of the late Roy H. Thompson, died March 7, 2006, at a Bangor hospital after a short illness. She was born Oct. 9, 1911, in Caswell, the daughter of Albert and Annie (Searles) Holmes. She had been a former employee of Viner Shoe where she worked for 18 years and was a long time member of the Corinth United Methodist Church. Eunice loved to knit and crochet for other people, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by a son, Wayne Darling and his wife, Tanya, of Corinth; two daughters, Mona Habeeb and Virginia Philbrick, both of Corinth; two brothers, Bernie Holmes of Caribou and Edward Holmes of South Berwick; two daughters-in-law, Brenda Darling and Barbara Darling, both of Illinois; 14 grandchildren, six step grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews. In addition to her first husband, Carl Darling, Eunice was predeceased by two sons, Carl and Winston Darling; three sisters, Ivy Parker, Sylvia Holmes and Octavia Leavitt; and four brothers, Oran, Osam, Zene and Ivory Holmes. Friends may call 1 p.m. Saturday until time of services at 2 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Rd., Corinth, with the Rev. Cynthia Nickerson, officiating. Spring burial will be in Corinthian Cemetery in Corinth.
