VERNON, CONN. – Thurley (Dyer) Keegan Sanborn, 93, beloved wife of the late Ernest G. Keegan and Laurence O. Sanborn, went home to be with her Lord Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, with her daughter at her side. Born in Mars Hill, daughter of the late James and Serena (Tompkins) Dyer, she grew up in Maine before moving to Hartford, Conn., in 1951. Thurley lived in Hartford, Conn., for 25 years before returning to Mars Hill in 1975 and moving to Vernon, Conn., in 2000. She was employed by the former Amostat and Roytype, Hartford, Conn., for 25 years. When she returned to Mars Hill, Thurley worked at Grants, Presque Isle and in 1976 she went to work for the Human Relations Services of Caribou until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of Free Baptist Church, Bridgewater, Bridgewater Senior Citizens, was a past noble grand, Bridgewater Crescent Rebekah Lodge No. 121, and past promotion secretary and vice president of Elizabeth York W.C.T.U., Mars Hill. Her loving and caring ways will be missed greatly by her family and friends. She was a true inspiration to all that were fortunate to know her. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Thurley Marie Volovski of Vernon, Conn.; a granddaughter, Serena Ann Volovski of Vernon, Conn., with whom she made her home; two grandsons, Thomas E. Volovski II of Presque Isle and Stephen G. Volovski of New Britain, Conn. In addition to her parents, Thurley was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. Her family will receive friends for calling hours 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road, Route 83, Vernon, Conn. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, at First Congregational Church of Vernon, 695 Hartford Turnpike, Vernon, Conn., with the Rev. Dr. Peter R. K. Brenner officiating.
