ASHLAND – Trinity Elizabeth Basso, 3, died tragically April 17, 2006, as a result of a motor vehicle accident on Route 11 in Ashland, which also claimed the lives of her three sisters, Paige Long, Melinda Long, and Victoria Basso. She was born Feb. 21, 2003, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Joseph A. Basso, III and Deanne (Saucier) Basso. Trinity, the “little Goldi-locks,” with her naturally curly hair spoke to all she met through her big beautiful eyes. She loved “Dora” and could speak Spanish better than anyone in the area, and she loved to teach it as well. She was fascinated with bugs, and was often seen carrying them around in a jar, whether they were dead or alive, and was very fond of her pet snake, AJ. She also loved to make ice cream with her Uncle Hazen. Trinity is survived by her mother and father, Deanne and Joseph Basso III of Ashland; one brother, Thomas Long Jr. of Ashland; maternal grandparents, Hadley and Ella Saucier of Masardis; paternal grandparents, Patricia and Bob Pidgeon; paternal great-grandmother, Elsie Basso; paternal step-grandparents, Clarence and Geraldine Long of Ashland; Aunt Brittany, Aunt Reneake, Uncle Hadley, Aunt Tracy and “Unk” Kevin Baker Sr., Aunt Cindy and Uncle Hazen Walker, Aunt Vikki and Uncle Brad Ezzell, Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Bob Stevens, Aunt Jeannie and Uncle Gene Ouellet, Uncle Danny and Aunt Jeannie Long, Aunt Wanda and Uncle Larry Long, Aunt Nancy and Uncle Ferdie Samson, and all their families; and many other relatives and friends, too numerous to mention. Trinity will also be sadly missed by her special cousin and best friend, Kimmy Baker of Ashland. Relatives and friends may call 10 a.m. Saturday until time of service at the Ashland Community High School. A funeral service will be held for Trinity and her sisters 2 p.m. Saturday at the high school, with the Rev. Donald Morton Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Ashland Municipal Cemetery. Those who wish may contribute in her memory to The 4 Sisters Fund, in care of Brenda Clark, P.O. Box 290, Ashland, ME 04732. Arrangements are a service of Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland.
